Believer: Hello Jesus!
JESUS: Hi! Who are you?
Believer: What??? How can you not know me? I have been an active believer all this years, yet you do not know me? I cannot believe that you just acted like you don’t know me, Lord!
JESUS: You are not the first person to call me Lord and yet be so shocked! There are many who are active in my name that I do not know! Have you read Mathew 7:21 before?
Believer: Waoh! This sounds like a dream to me! Of course that scripture says that not everyone that calls you Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but those who do the will of God the father.
JESUS: Right. Verses 22 & 23 also reads “many will say unto me in that day, Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?“
Believer: I know the Bible says that. I have fasted for many days before and prayed with many results and supernatural proofs. How else could those results and proofs have manifested if they were not the will of God?
JESUS: Verse 23 says: “And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU, depart from me ye that work iniquity.”
Believer: I definitely do not work iniquity. All my years of devotion and kingdom services were done sincerely. And I continue to have answers to prayers I made in the name of JESUS.
JESUS: Did you ever read about the devotions and religious activities recorded in Acts 17:21-30 and how Paul the apostle commanded the Athenians to repent?
Believer: Yes. What about it?
JESUS: Even before my appearing in flesh as a man, my Father God who is Almighty had always answered prayers when anyone or people are fervent enough! Have you not noticed that those who do not believe in me as Lord and Savior, those who are not born again also get answers and proofs of God’s Almightiness? I know that you too had answers to prayers even before you got to know me, more especially during those years when you were below the age of accountability.
Believer: There you go? Now you acknowledge that I know you, even before I said the sinners’ prayer? Of course I know you. Truly, before I became more religious, I used to dream of things before they manifest. I used to make wishes that got supernatural answers. Then when I got born again I had seen God at work in my life. I used to be poor but now I am very rich. I used to sin but now I sin less. I am sure you know that we cannot be perfect and without sin here on earth, that is why you made grace available for us right?
JESUS: There are so many people that know me, that are not in my records. I maintain records of those that I know but your name is not in the list.
Believer: I cannot believe that we are having this conversation. Even if you do not know me what about the many people that I brought into relationship with you!
JESUS: Indeed my father has given me a name at which every knee shall bow and every tongue confesses. Haven’t you noticed that every religion use my name too? Some use my name for outright deceit, while others use it in just enough measures to attract attention to other agendas that are not of me. There are those like you who indeed render acts of service on my behalf but yet have no direct connection with me.
Believer: Even if you do not know me as you said, I have no doubt that you know my spiritual leader. I have no doubt that my spiritual leader will certify and qualify me as a child of God!
JESUS: I do not know my own through intermediaries. Everyone must account to me directly.
Believer: Well. One thing I am certain about in my heart is that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord, master and savior. I have come so far in the Lord and in service to him that I cannot miss heaven at the end of my life.
JESUS: Indeed my words are very clear in scriptures that those who believe in me shall be saved. What you just spoke about alludes to the shedding of my blood and my death at Calvary. Talking about the gracious opening of my kingdom doors on earth for those who believe in my name, to get a chance to know me and walk with me, so that I can know them too. Many like you learnt about me but refused to have personal ongoing relationship with me. I save those that I know and not those that just knows about me. I am sure that you know that the whole earth knows about me, but I do not know everyone in the spiritually connected way to save them all!
Believer: Really??? That would be a good theological controversy right there!
JESUS: Many like you get into my spiritual territory just enough to enjoy heavenly benefits and are not interested in a deeper relationship by which I get to know those who are my own. Indeed your name is amongst those who enjoy heaven’s benefits, but I do not know you! Have you not read in my word that after the harvest, there shall be a separation of wheat from tares and of sheep from goats?
Believer: I am definitely not a tare, nor am I a goat!
JESUS: Do you know that even the devil knows me as Lord and Savior, and, is even permitted to come in and out from among my faithful believers, but since he will not submit to me, then he is not of me and cannot be known of me!
Believer: This is too confusing for me….. Okay! How do I get you to know me?
JESUS: Good question! Now that you are willing to learn, I will teach you so your understanding can be opened. Remember that at the beginning of this conversation, I asked you a simple question, which was: who are you?
Believer: Yes. I remember giving you answers.
JESUS: From your own answers you clearly could not ID yourself! Those that I know can effectively identify themselves because they walked daily by faith with me. They know who they are and not just what they are. Now I will ask that same question from this manifesting believer, one of those that I know! …. Who are you?
Manifesting Believer:
My Lord and my God, I am your son. When I came to know you, I made up my mind to walk intimately with you. You taught me through my daily experiences with you that my Christian life is not about my preferences but yours. I have learnt that my life with you is not determined by what is popular or what people say. My daily living is all about what you say. I am one who loves to do your will. Sometimes your will is easy, many times it is unreasonable to human thinking. I try to fulfill your will as much as I can, those times when I fail; you pull me up in your loving-kindness and set my feet back on course, giving me fresh grace to keep going. Sometimes your will aligns with popular expectations, but so many times it does not. I am one who loves you from every part of my being and I love to please you and you alone! I am your servant and I am determined to do your will, no matter what.
Believer: So is it too late for you to know me?
JESUS: For as long as you are still among the living, it cannot be too late. If you are one of my own, then you need to relate with me directly for me to know you. I need you to find me out on the pages of your own Bible. You will need to compare your own Biblical notes with those of my servants whose words will resonate with and confirm the truths I place in your heart. You will need to have private and undisturbed moments of personal worship with me.
Believer: The many hours of Church services & activities are not enough?
JESUS: For those that I know, I entrust certain duties to them which they are personally responsible to undertake for the benefit of my kingdom on earth. Such faith-required responsibilities makes them seek me in a deeply demanding way that allows me unveil spiritual depths. They enjoy divine encounters in their walk with me
Believer: Shouldn’t such depths be reserved for the top echelons of your Body? You cannot possibly expect every believer to operate at such depth, can you?
JESUS: I love to walk daily with my own. I will be jealous when you fail to listen to me but rather listen to loud environmental distractions. In all that you said in this conversation, not once did you make mention of following the Holy Spirit that I made to reside in you. You will need to learn to walk by the Holy Spirit and in the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit and I are one. If you follow these directions of mine, you will know me more and I will know and know you more.
Believer: Since you also agree that I have the Holy Spirit, what then is the essence of all these technicalities? It is my assumption that all you just shared was the same reason for all my works for you up until now!
JESUS: If you will not walk with my will here on earth, you will not be able to walk with me in heaven. Those who cannot tolerate me on a very personal level on earth cannot withstand my Holy Presence in Heaven!
