WORD MISSIONS

IT'S NOT ABOUT MY FEELINGS: IT'S ALL ABOUT HIS WILL

If left for my feelings, I would not want to be known. I love to be in my quiet corner. If left for my feelings, I would not want to bother nobody, I have enough of my own. Because of His will, I have been through one discomfiting journey after another. Because of His will, I have waded through demonic counter-attacks one after another.

His will is indeed a cross. Those who do not know Him much, think the Christian journey is about how they like it. Those who walk closely with Him understand that its not about personal will but so much more about His divine will. His will is a cross when you have to do what you do not like to do. What an honor to respond to Him, meeting His earthly needs.

Ask Biblical Moses if it always felt good serving His will. Talk to Elijah if feeling depressed was a feel-good time for Him. Ask Noah if public disapproval was what he expected from obeying God's commands. Send a request to Jonah and find out if he did not feel justified to try to stay away from public ridicule that could reverberate after doing the will of God. We ought to query JESUS to find out how rejection, pain & frustration made him feel forsaken. Apostle Paul's many woes and discomforts were definitely not situations that human feelings or self-will would sign-up for.

In a world of feel-good-about-it Christianity, it is surely not a good feeling to talk about any other will contrary to the human will. In a world where many have become their own gods, how can anything else suffice except it satisfies the convenience of today's popular will.

It is my understanding that God has a Will that usually defies the comfort of those he calls. "By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.Heb 11:24-26 (KJV)

This is not a talk about seeking and justifying suffering for Christ. This is a talk about Kingdom service and readiness to take your own kingdom cross, following Him, even if it requires that you "suffer" for Christ. Many there be that run from God's will because it makes them vulnerable to their society.

Someone need to yield and say: "Lord JESUS, teach me to do your will. I understand that your will may be contrary to my will. I realize that when I get to that CROSS-road, I ought to yield my will to your DIVINE Will! Lord, I ask that you help me to do your WILL, now & always. in JESUS name I prayed. Amen!"
